CESSNA 206 STATIONAIR
The purpose of this small page is to render in images the various functions included in this Cessna 206 Stationair.
First of all, the panel 2d.
I believe that on this level, there is nothing great a deal to add...
Then, the Virtual one.
Welcome to the place I prefer to find myself and in which I hope you will find yourself soon as well...
On this screen, you will notice that the left side window can open. There are two ways to accomplish this. You can press on the key which usually deploys the air-brakes of the planes which are equipped with them (Which is not the case here...). This will cause it to open instantaneously in one phase. Press on the same key to close it again. Or, it is also possible to open it and close it using the mouse. For that, position the pointer anywhere on the frame of window, and press down and hold the left mouse button and draw towards you to open it. Reverse the motion to close it again. It is a little illogical but it works... This way of opening it allows you to to stop its opening at any stage contrary to opening it with the air-brakes keypress.
In the current version, the right-hand side window can also open, but there is no key press mapped to it. In this case, press and hold the mouse button and move the mouse not from top to bottom but from right to left and vice versa to close it.
To open the doors, again 2 choices. SHIFT + E for the first or to click with the mouse while pointing ON the button of door of the pilot door. This action can be made with the window open or closed.
To open the cap, simply SHIFT + E + 2.
To lower or reassemble the pilot sun visor, you must use the "tailhook" key in the English version of FS. Normally, by default, this function is not mapped to any key combination. So to do it, you must go in small "the options/controls" and assign a key "to deploy or retract the tailhook". For my part, I chose the "," (comma) key.
For the principal functionalities of the instrument panel, here is a photograph with accompanying notes simpler to include/understand for everyone.
The switches of the Auxiliary Fuel pump, the various lights and the powering of the various instruments are also easy to handle using the mouse and are located under the yoke to the left.
If you want to know your speed in km/h, move your mouse on the speedometer dial and to wait one or 2 seconds.
The flaps lever in this photograph is also easy to handle using the mouse. Put the pointer of the mouse on the small beige pull knob, press the left mouse button and draw somewhat downwards. As in reality, there are 3 stages (10, 20 and 40°) for the flaps.
It is possible, in the virtual cockpit, to click at certain places on various instruments in order to reveal them as pop-up windows (in 2d). You remain in virtual cockpit without having to switch to 2d, for example, to adjust various frequencies on the radio stack panel (it is possible to do it into VC as well, but legibility is not always sharp and the response time of the gauges is often slower).
These instruments are:
- the GPS. Click on its screen to reveal it into pop-up. Attention however. I do not know by which mystery, the GPS which appears on the window 2d does not have a relationship with that posted in virtual cockpit. Indeed, any action that you will commetterez on the GPS in 2d will not reflect on the other... They thus behave like 2 independent GPS... Too bad.
To close again it, rappuyez on the screen of the GPS for 3d.
- the RADIO STACK: If you click exactly at the place indicated on this screen, all the panel radios are posted in 2d. To close it again, click again on the same place on the 3D radio stack or then also on the same place of the 2D radio stack.
- the outside temperature gauge is located on one of ventilations (cfr screen). It is functional in the virtual cockpit. It is however rather hard to read. You can also reveal it in a 2D window while clicking on the center of the gauge in virtual cockpit.
There is also small icon located on the instrument panel (C°). You will not be able to say that I did not give you a choice!
And the night...?
Eh well, this panel just like lays out of a lighting of night my preceding model (Cessna 150 Commuter).
You have the choice between the lighting of all the cockpit like always:
This same lighting added with the lighting of the gauges:
And finally of the lighting of the gauges only:
This lighting is coupled with the landing lights. A little unrealistic, I concede, but so much more comfortable for night flights.
The pilot's sun visor can be lowered and raised thanks to the key or combination of keys which make it possible to operate tailhook. So for that function, it is necessary, if it is not already done, to assign this function in the parameters of the keys (English tailhook).
Now it's your turn to make a thorough investigation of the features of the Cessna 206 Stationair.
Enjoy!.
Have a good and safe flight for all.
